Three worlds have shown to be very high in life energy, but one looks like a dead, barren, and pock-marked world. Gorr and Torch goes to the more Earth-like world, while Reed and Ben go to the mechanical looking one. The third is ignored, leaving Sue as the instant reinforcements.

Torch and Gorr find themselves in a Medieval time with fire-breathing dragons, damsels in distress and mounted knights. They are captured after being bonked in the head.

Reed and Ben arrive on a planet of robots named Mekka led by Torgo. They were unable to bring themselves to ask for the Mekkans to willingly give up their planet to save Counter Earth, nor would Torgo allow them to leave, for fear that they would alert Galactus of Mekka's position. They were captured as well. The High Evolutionary, who had watched it all, starts to get ready to face Galactus himself.

Much better, all the plot twists one would expect when dealing with three different planets.
