Thor #406 (1989)
War with Wondagore
Story #1:
With the disappearance of The High Evolutionary at the end of the Evolutionary War, the High Evolutionary's New-Men were essentially leaderless until Mongoose stepped in and took over. He had kidnapped Eric Masterson and threatened Kevin Masterson. At that time, he left a clue to lead Thor to Wondagore, where Mongoose had hopes to destroy him with a single, very large missile.

One of the New-Men is Count Tagar who appears to be the puppet leader of the New-Men. Tagar still holds hope that the Evolutionary can be found. A battle takes place outside of Wondagore between a still living Thor and at least six New Men on atomic steeds.

When the New-Men surrendered they were all summoned into Wondagore, the machine that was searching for the Evolutionary had found him, and Hercules within the Black Galaxy. Thor agrees to take several New-Men into the Black Galaxy to find Hercules and the Evolutionary. Masterson also wishes to go, if nothing else to let Thor have a friendly face out there. Masterson is fitted with a suit of battle armor that Eric is very impressed with.

Thor transports them to the Black Galaxy.

Notes:
Not bad.  After nearly a year without Hercules or the High Evolutionary, a story begins of their return to the realm of mortal beings.

Story #2 (Tales of Asgard, Let There be Life)
This short story depicts the bringing of life to the Earth.

Notes:
If you've never read any of the Norse sagas, or you are able to remember that this is just a COMIC BOOK, then this is an interesting peace. In the Marvel Universe, apparently, the Earth had a previous life. That was cleansed, and the Asgardians started the current life cycle.
