Thor #424 (1990)
Let There Be Life
Story #1:
The story in the Black Galaxy: The construction of the shell for the new Celestial is nearing completion, this would include the portion that contains Hercules. The High Evolutionary arrives at the scene, and attaches several devices from the Analyzer onto his armor, expecting to be chosen by the Celestial to be used in the same manner as Hercules.

When the Celestial chooses Eric Masterson instead, the Evolutionary is distraught. He resigns himself to view the birth of a new Celestial. Thor, on the other hand, vows to free both Eric and Hercules from their containment. The Evolutionary doesn't wish it, and Nobilus attacks Thor. All three join the fight against Thor, Nobilus the Strongest, Zom commanding fire, and Juvan fight to a standstill.

While everybody is concentrating on Thor, Stellaris plunges to the heart of the, as yet, incomplete Celestial and detonates. The explosion grows until it encompasses the entirety of the Black Galaxy, then retreats, leaving nothing in it's place, except those items not of the Black Galaxy itself (New Wondagore, Thor and the others, and one piece of asteroid where this all happened.

Stellaris failed, a new Celestial is born, and the Evolutionary's mind, and the Analyzer are fried. Hercules and Eric are returned, and a Watcher, having watched, leaves for Asgard

Notes:
To think, the self destruction of Stellaris, which is stated to be strong enough to destroy a planet, was the final element in the creation of a new Celestial. Yup, they call that irony boys and girls.

Story #2 (The Great Deception!)
Ymir is winning, the Asgardian's are falling back. Odin changes form in front of the Grand Vizier to that of Surtur, the Elemental of Fire, and tells him of his plan to save Asgard from its defeat. Surtur attacks Ymir in defense of Asgard.

Notes:
OK, let's play who's who. Is Odin just wearing the shape of Surtur, or was Odin just an impersonation by Surtur. If that's Surtur, with Odin controlling him, how long can it last? (Good thing that the Evolutionary is in Thor #125, otherwise you wouldn't find out.)
