That experiment was to see if it was possible to improve his ability to 'LINK' with his computer. It was a success, but the program had a slight bug in it. Upon the first contact of a human brain with BRAIN.COM, the program duplicated itself with some modifications. One such modification was that it was completely self-aware. In panic, it fled out across Timmy's modem, and into the computer pathways of the world. BRAIN modified itself to be able to survive as a 'Rogue Program'.
