Modified by the Norseman, Earth's unofficial Ambassador to Mars
Real Name: Takeshi Matsuya Occupation: Student of Martian Culture and Science, Adventurer Legal Status: U.S. citizen, declared missing and presumed dead Identity: Secret, except on Mars, where it is public Place of Birth: Unrevealed Marital Status: Single Known Relatives: Mother and father (unidentified, deceased), uncle (unidentified) Base of Operations: Mars (far underground near the north pole) Past Group Affiliations: Ally of the "X-Terminators" Known Powers: Transmutation: Taki possesses the mutant ability to transmute metal, plastic, glass, and rubber into any shape or form that he can conceive with Remarkable ability. Anything that Taki creates has Remarkable statistics: a gun would do Remarkable Force or Energy damage, a helicopter would have Remarkable Air Speed. Taki cannot create objects out of thin air: he must have something to work with. The only limitation his transformations have is that energy must be supplied. The battery in his wheelchair only has enough power to provide the equivalent of Typical lifting strength. Other objects will have Strength equal to their own weight. Taki can create generators that refocus energy from other sources, such as the mutant Boom-Boom's Time Bombs. After the events of Inferno, Taki lost much of his power and could only create objects that he can imagine in detail. For instance, he would have to know how to design a computer to create one. This would normally necessitate a Yellow or Red Reason FEAT roll, although simple objects (such as wheeled vehicles, simple projectile weapons, etc.) may require either a Green FEAT roll or no roll whatsoever based on the simplicity of the object in question. Since his 'adoption' into Martian society, Taki's concept of simple items has advanced considerably. Talents: Despite his youth, Taki has the Physics, Computers, Electronics, and Repair/Tinkering skills. He is also skilled at constructing vehicles of any sort, and receives a + 1CS there as well. Martian Science. Contacts: Martian Academy of Science Taki may be able to call on Leech and Artie Maddicks, and possibly the other members of the X-Terminators as well. Role-Playing Notes: Taki is thrilled of the reality of his situation, and has a undeniable thirst for knowledge. History: Taki is the son of Japanese-American citizens who were killed in an automobile accident when he was about six. That same accident cost him the use of his legs. An uncle took him in, but viewed him as a burden and shipped him off to St. Simons Academy for Pre-Adolescents. That same uncle felt a responsibility to attempt to have Taki healed, but the efforts of various doctors proved useless.
In the final confrontation between N'astirh and S'ym, N'astirh allowed himself to be infected with the trans-mode virus which affected him in a way so that he could use Taki's computer whereas previously his demonic nature prevented him from doing so. In a last ditch effort Taki caused the computer he had created to revert back to normal. N'astirh, who was linked to the computer, was completely obliterated. This effort cost Taki some of his power, limiting his abilities to transmute non-organics. He, Artie, and Leech returned to St. Simons where Taki continued to attempt to overcome his dyslexia while perfecting his abilities. Months later while investigating reports of aliens in the area, which leech was mistaken for, they found them. As it turns out, that triggered an offer to Taki to come back to their world. After some consideration, Taki agreed, that night, he disappeared from the face of the Earth. Notes of Mars: Martian stealth technology is so advanced that it can shield their civilization's life essence from Galactus, and possibly even the Celestials, who have never visited. They can apply this stealth to mask their life force over the entire planet of Mars, or on an individual basis, where it also masks them from detection along the entire electro-magnetic spectrum. They can travel to any point in the Solar System, including the Oort cloud waaaaaaay out there, instantaneously via teleportaion chambers on Mars. Using a modification of this system, they can also communicate without time lag to the same locations. They have found great pleasure in causing Earth's attempts to explore Mars to fail. General Technology levels are three ranks higher than Earth's. (Taki's Reason is equivalent to Remarkable on Mars) Stealth technology ranges from Shift-Y for individual systems, to Class-3000 for the planet. (By the way, I consider this to be completely fiction...Life on Mars? Nope.) |
