Triathlon is a self-willed individual who can be a little hot-headed at times. He's not as snappy on the patter as Spider-Man but he has his fair share of it. He seems to be very loyal to the Triune Understanding, taking up any defense of them if they are being besmirched in any way.
DelRoy Garrett was an athlete of the highest caliber, becoming a top class Olympic sprinter, winning several gold medals. However, he was stripped of the honor of holding them for using steroids during his Olympic career.
It was some time after this which was a low point in his life, that he met up with Jonathan Tremont, founder of the Triune Understanding, a quasi-religious organization, who was responsible for giving him his abilities though the specifics of that have not been revealed.
As part of a politically correct move to include more minorities in the Avengers' ranks, Triathlon was recruited by the new federal liaison, who is also a part of the Triune Understanding. The relations were at first tense but they have eased up a bit as time has passed on.
