SF-1a Super Harrier

Unveiled at the 1998 Paris Air Exhibition (as a static display) the SPF-1A has
created comments ranging from 'Impossible!' to 'That's amazing!'
The first units have been delivered to the US Marine Corps, where it will
supplant and replace the AV-8B Harrier II. The US Navy has also ordered
several units, but they have not been delivered as of yet. Other NATO
militaries have also placed orders.
Many nations around the world are impressed not only by the performance and
agility of the craft, but also by the multi-atmospheric nature of the craft.
Unfortunately production of the craft will be very slow, due to the
complexity of the engines, Avionics and Hydro-Navigation electronics. It
is expected that only 12 of these craft can be built in a year. It is also
expected that production will increase as technology advances.
The price of the vehicle is low for a fighter. (Amazing) This
price is drawing criticism from every major military aircraft manufacturer.
The Damage Incorporated pricing scheme is aimed for many units sold at a
lower price than few sold at a higher price.

(TAPS) |
High capacity, high velocity advanced Ionic drive. It
is very quiet and produces little in the way of tell-tails. Any
gasses that are created while submerged are captures and used to
supplement the life-support system.

If one wing is missing, controlling the craft is much more
difficult (-4cs) than if both wings are gone (-2cs). This is due to
the craft being so much heavier on the side with the wing remaining. |

Damage Repair |
One of the most outstanding features of this craft is it's
ability to repair itself (Regeneration at Incredible). It cannot,
however, repair a jettisoned wing until it has be re-attached or replaced. |
