PC Programs

Marvel Super Heroes isn't my only hobby.  Visual Basic programming is one of my few others.

Ok, here are the Windows Installer programs for each type of Windows Operating System. This program is needed when running a file with a MSI extension. Newer Operating systems probably already have it installed, but anything before Win2k will probably be out of luck. ( Win 95/98/98SE/ME? 1,439k ) ( WinNT/2k/XP/+ 1,438k )

To save time, on the installations that are in ZIP files, I have separated two files that, more than likely, are already on your PC.  This is the VB6 Runtime sp5 (972k) and Microsoft's Data Access Components, aka MDAC 2.7sp1 (5,220k). These are the most up to date versions available at this time (3/8/03) from Microsoft's website. (The MDAC is the same that is installed with Windows XP sp1)

If the program downloads don't work after installation, download and install the VB6 runtime.  If it (they?) still don't work, Download and install MDAC.

If you are using a Windows XP or 2000 machine, there might be required to install the Jet database engine. This may be required because Microsoft isn't building it into their MDAC files any longer, but are required when accessing an Access database. The really fun part is that the files, are different for each operating system. For simplicity sake, I'm posting links to Microsoft's download site for each OS. ( Win2k, WinXP )
